40 Ways to Avoid the Doctor Office

Not that we don’t enjoy seeing our patients, but our first responsibility is to prevent ill health to begin with!  Here are some simple habits that can help keep you and your family out of the doctor’s office.

    1. Get 8 hours of sleep every night.
    2. Exercise at least 3 times per week.
    3. Go outside every day.
    4. Spend time with people you love.
    5. Limit processed foods.
    6. Take a walk every day.
    7. Balance your exercise between weight training, aerobics and stretching.
    8. Regularly listen to music you love.
    9. Practice random acts of kindness.
    10. Eat 2-3 servings of fruit and 3-4 servings of vegetables every day (and take your Juice Plus+).
    11. Eat locally grown foods. (Avoid the Dirty Dozen and know the Clean Fifteen.)
    12. Dance!
    13. Write in a journal regularly.

    23. Eat together as a family.
    24. Wash your hands regularly.

    26. Eliminate soda.
    27. Eat moderate portions.
    28. Pay attention to your posture when sitting and standing.
    29. Meditate.
    30. Practice a bedtime routine.
    31. Don’t smoke or vape.
    32. Remember to stop and take deep, mindful breaths several times a day.
    33. Eat whole grains.
    34. Do a big yearly cleanse and small seasonal ones.
