Joseph Cannizzaro, MD
Known for his genuine compassion, Dr. Cannizzaro is dedicated to providing children and their families with healthier, happier and longer lives. This is his mission and why he assembled the team of holistic practitioners at Cannizzaro Integrative Pediatric Center.
As a classically-trained primary care physician who practices functional medicine, Dr. Cannizzaro believes that integrative medicine can bring conventional and complementary healing modalities together, creating a highly personalized and high-touch healing environment.
Debi Wills, APRN
Honest, direct and reassuring, Debi draws on over 36 years of experience as a pediatric nurse to educate, support and treat her patients. She works collaboratively with families on specific health concerns, nutrition, supplements and illness prevention. Her career as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner has centered around integrative health modalities, including homeopathy.
Debi adores working with children and adolescents, a love she found in her early 20’s when she was hired as an aide to work with severely disabled children in a group home setting.
Melanie Confusione, RN
An accomplished “child whisperer,” Melanie always knew she would work with kids. She sees the fear behind a child’s behavior, works with it, and gains cooperation from the child as a result. Her gift allows the children in her care to assist in making the best choices for their own health.
Melanie completed her nursing degree at Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and has worked as a registered nurse in the pediatric community for over 20 years.
Lauren Meador, PA-C
Empathy, asking the right questions, and listening are Lauren’s strategies for discovering the roadblocks to vibrant health for the families under her care. Because of her diligent sensitivity, patients praise her practical explanations and helpful suggestions. Although relocated to the West Coast, Lauren still provides virtual support to our team and staff.
Fascinated by the function of the human body and the optimizing effects that nutrition and exercise can have on it, Lauren earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Florida and a Master’s degree from Barry University to become a Physician Assistant.
Tillie Alenikoff-Grady, CMA
Tillie is passionate about helping people make informed decisions through education. She believes sharing well-researched information can be powerful, especially when helping parents create a healthy lifestyle and environment for their families.
Tillie loves multi-tasking and thrives at it. She can go from deciphering insurance to irrigating a patient’s ear to helping with an IT challenge in the office. Always remaining calm—even when there may be a bit of chaos at hand—Tillie is a positive, leveling force in every situation.
Wendy Bowdoin, LPN
Wendy’s love for babies and kids began at an early age. She grew up babysitting and was interested in health and nutrition, which led to her to nursing school and working with children.
Wendy serves in many roles at CIPC. Whether she is tending to patients in exam rooms, performing lab draws, answering phones or assisting with the Salt Room, Wendy loves meeting the needs of both parents and children.
Passionate about family, Trina feels right at home in a pediatric practice.
Connecting with parents and children so that they understand how the practice works is part of Trina’s role at CIPC. She finds great joy in sharing the benefits of integrative medicine and the approach taken by the practice.
