CIPC Member Exclusive: What to Do if Your Child Isn’t Feeling Well

There are many benefits to the CIPC membership model, of which you are undoubtedly aware—no waiting for appointments, up to one-hour-long appointments that address all your concerns and the integrative, holistic care you seek.  Even if we do not have “open” appointments, we have the capability to help when your child is sick.

During Office Hours

(Mon – Thur 8:30 am to 4:00 pm; Fri 8:30 am to 12:00 noon)

During office hours, please call the office and speak to one of our nurses.  Because we offer holistic medicine, we are going to first suggest natural remedies that can help you to treat your child at home.  If we determine that an office visit is needed, we will do our best to see your child that same day.  If it is late in the day, we will advise whether it is safe to provide comfort at home or if an urgent care visit is necessary.  Our primary goal is to see your children in our office and not have them seen in an urgent care facility.

If the nursing staff suggest that you provide symptomatic care, it is because they feel your child’s symptoms might be best treated at home.  If you are worried and would prefer that your child be seen, please voice that desire to the nursing staff.

Making Appointments Online

Only half of our schedule is available for DIY online scheduling.  These appointments are convenient if you want to schedule a well visit a few weeks out without having to wait until office hours to call us.  Occasionally, you can snag a sick visit for the next day if you are up with your sick child during the night.  We do hold several appointments for same-day sick visits and will always do our best to see your child in the office the same day.

After Hours

The CIPC team is committed to helping you with any medical need when the office is closed.  If you are in need of a non-urgent medication refill or a school form, we ask that you leave a message at the office, and the office staff will take care of those needs first thing the next business day.

To get after-hours medical advice, call the office (321-280-5867) and if you are an active member of the practice, use extension 7 for after-hours care, which will go straight to the on-call provider’s cell phone.

If you call and leave a message and don’t hear back in 20 minutes, call again.  Make sure you leave a voicemail with your child’s name, date of birth and your call back number.

Exclusively for Members

Remember, your CIPC membership fee also entitles you to a 15-20% discount on our in-office supplements and 50% off The Salt Room Longwood, located in our office.
