gail ezell aprn integrative pediatric nurse practitioner

Caring and perceptive, Gail knew she wanted to be a nurse since she was in the first grade. In fact, her nickname in high school was “Nurse!”  After high school, she entered a diploma nursing program and worked as a staff nurse and in nursing management in the Kansas City area in the NICU, PICU, OB and lactation consulting for the first 20 years of her career.

She earned both her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and then became a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  For the last 24 years, she has worked primarily in Pediatric Otolaryngology (ear, nose, throat) in pediatric ambulatory and hospital settings.

Gail has always wanted to bookend her career working in primary care and greatly enjoys conducting well child and sick child visits in CIPC’s functional-integrative model of care.  She is passionate about helping each child and family be the healthiest they can be and loves seeing children and families with plenty of energy and joy in their lives.

“Parents are THE most important people in a child’s life. I want to help empower parents to make the best decisions for their children, given the unique circumstances in their lives. I want to help them feel confident they’re doing their very best raising happy and healthy children.”

Gail lives in a fly-in community in Port Orange with her pilot husband, Rick.  She loves flying with him to fun places like Asheville, NC or Sanibel Island, FL.  In her spare time, she likes to attend the symphony, garden, read and participate in her women’s spiritual growth group.  The best piece of advice she ever got was from her grandmother, who advised, “God gave people two ears and one mouth for an important reason—we should listen twice as much as we talk.”
