barbara baldwin holistic pediatricianA seasoned pediatrician of over 34 years, Dr. Barbara Baldwin uses both integrative and conventional medical therapies to treat her patients. Her passion in pediatrics is to educate parents and children, so kids develop healthy habits that improve their quality of life as adults. She believes in integrating adjunctive therapies, such as craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, homeopathy and diet and nutrition counseling.

Dr. Baldwin served as a meteorologist in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of captain before earning her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Worth, TX. She served as a resident in pediatrics at both Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, OH and at the University of Texas Health Science Center/MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, TX. Interestingly, she began her career with Dr. Joseph Cannizzaro at the Pediatricians Care Unit (PCU) in Longwood, FL.

Dr. Baldwin has had a wide range of medical experience including running her own pediatric office for 25 years. Once her children were grown, she expanded her skill set and worked as the medical director for a group of pediatric urgent care clinics in South Florida. From there, she spent a year as a pediatrician at PeaceHealth Hospital in Ketchikan, Alaska, where she was busy with all aspects of pediatric care—from newborns, to the ER, to clinical office practice. Dr. Baldwin recently served for the last year as the only pediatrician in the COVID-19 clinic at the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Ft. Campbell, KY.

Dr. Baldwin is very knowledgeable with a straightforward presence and enjoys helping parents navigate their children’s health matters so that they can live better lives. She applies compassion and first-hand experience to complex medical issues, as she is the mother of an autistic daughter herself.

“As a doctor and the mother of a special needs child, I have spent a great deal of time in private practice advocating for special needs children and the need for early diagnosis.”

For fun, Dr. Baldwin spends time with her husband and daughters and enjoys crafting and traveling—her favorite spots on the globe are Alaska and Iceland. Dr. Baldwin is an animal lover; her favorite charities are the ASPCA and numerous pet charities that take care of underserved animals.
